Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is one of the most polarizing stars in the history of professional wrestling. Hogan's popularity in the '80s saw professional wrestling boom with mainstream media getting on board. Hogan is a 12-time World Champion with six reigns as WWE Champion and six runs as WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

The Hulkster has had successful World Title reigns in both WWE and WCW and memorable World Title reigns as a babyface and heel. Hogan's dominance in WWE and WCW was apparent, however, not all of Hogan's World Championship reigns were great which shows Hogan isn't perfect all the time.

10 Worst: WCW World Heavyweight Championship - 3rd Reign (1997)

Hulk Hogan's 359-day run as WCW World Heavyweight Champion was ended by Lex Luger on the August 4, 1997 edition of Nitro. However, five days later, Hogan invoked his rematch clause and challenged the Total Package for the gold in the main event of Road Wild 1997.

Hogan regained the WCW World Heavyweight Championship all thanks to Sting hitting Luger in the back with a baseball bat. Hogan's third reign as WCW World Heavyweight Champion lasted 141 days and it was an average title run. He dropped the championship to Sting at Starrcade 1997.

Sgt. Slaughter upset The Ultimate Warrior at the 1991 Royal Rumble to win the WWE Championship. At WrestleMania 7, Hogan was looking to end the Iraqi Sympathizer's WWE Championship reign in his sixth WrestleMania main event in seven years.

Unsurprisingly, Hogan defeated Slaughter to kickstart his third reign as WWE Champion. Hogan had a stranglehold on the WWE Championship for 248 days. Survivor Series 1991 was where Hogan dropped the WWE Championship to The Undertaker with the Deadman becoming the youngest WWE Champion at 26.

8 Worst: WCW World Heavyweight Championship - 5th Reign (1999)

Arguably, the worst moment in the history of WCW happened on the January 4, 1999 episode of Nitro. Hogan ended Kevin Nash's WCW World Heavyweight Championship reign with Hogan using his finger to take Nash down, with the incident becoming known as the Fingerpoke of Doom.

Hogan's fifth reign as WCW World Heavyweight Champion was poor as he only defended the title three times. He lost to Roddy Piper on an episode of Nitro by disqualification, but he managed to retain the title against Ric Flair at SuperBrawl 9. Ultimately, Hogan dropped the championship to the Nature Boy in a steel cage match at Uncensored 1999 in a First Blood steel cage match.

Hulk Hogan shocked the world by turning heel and joining the Outsiders and he was unveiled as the third man that kickstarted the nWo at Beach at the Beach 1996. Hogan continued his dominance in WCW as he ended The Giant's WCW World Heavyweight Championship reign at Hog Wild 1996 thus becoming a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

Afterward, Hogan sprayed the nWo logo on the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Hogan defeated the likes of Randy Savage and Roddy Piper in successful title defenses. However, Lex Luger curtailed Hogan's impressive 359-day stranglehold with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in August 1997.

It was a fairytale return to WWE in 2002 for Hulk Hogan after the Hulkster tore the house down with The Rock at WrestleMania 18. A month later he was rewarded with a sixth WWE Championship reign at Triple H's expense in the main event at Backlash.

Hogan only held the WWE Championship for 28 days but he successfully defended the gold against former WWE Champions Chris Jericho and Ric Flair. However, just like he did in 1991, The Undertaker once again ended one of Hogan's WWE Championship reigns at Judgment Day.

5 Best: WCW World Heavyweight Championship - 1st Reign (1994-95)

Hulk Hogan carried on right where he left off when he left WWE to join WCW. The Hulkster defeated Ric Flair at Bash at the Beach 1994 to become the longest-reigning WCW Champion in history at 459 days.

Hogan was a dominant WCW World Heavyweight Champion and he saw off the likes of Ric Flair in multiple WCW World Heavyweight Championship title matches. Hogan's title reign ended controversially to The Giant at Halloween Havoc 1995 as he lost by disqualification.

Hulk Hogan's WWE World Tag Team Championship match wasn't the Hulkster's only appearance at WrestleMania 9, he answered Mr. Fuji's open challenge and he challenged the new WWE Champion Yokozuna to an impromptu match. In typical Hogan fashion, Hogan made the ending all about him and he defeated Yokozuna in a matter of seconds to become a five-time WWE Champion.

This was one of Hogan's worst WWE Championship victories and he held the title for 70 days. Hogan was on his way out of WWE when Yokozuna regained the gold at King of the Ring 1993.

3 Best: WWE Championship - 2nd Reign (1989-90)

Hulk Hogan clinched his second WWE Championship reign by defeating his former Mega Powers tag team partner Randy Savage at WrestleMania 5. Hogan was at the top of his game in the '80s and early '90s and he had a steady 364-day run as WWE Champion.

The Hulkster defended his title against the likes of Savage, Big Boss Man, Ted DiBiase, The Honky Man, and Mr. Perfect. The main event of WrestleMania 6 was huge as it was a Winner Takes all match as Hogan's WWE Champion and The Ultimate Warrior's Intercontinental Championship were up for grabs. This was a fantastic wrestling match with good storytelling and Warrior handed Hogan his only defeat in a WrestleMania main event.

2 Worst: WWE Championship - 4th Reign (1991)

Hulk Hogan dropped the WWE Championship to The Undertaker at Survivor Series 1991, and six days later, Hogan and Undertaker had a rematch at This Tuesday in Texas. Hogan recaptured the WWE Championship from Undertaker to become a four-time WWE Champion.

This was Hogan's shortest WWE Championship reign as he only held the title for four days. President Jack Tunney stripped him of the title because of the controversial nature in that he won the championship.

Unquestionably, Hulk Hogan's first WWE Championship reign is the greatest World Championship reign of his Hall of Fame career. The Hulkster ended the late Iron Sheik's WWE Championship run, and he embarked on a four-year WWE Championship reign.

Hogan retained the WWE Championship at back-to-back WrestleManias against King Kong Bundy in a steel cage match at WrestleMania 2 and Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 3. Hogan seemed unbeatable during his lengthy WWE Championship reign but it was a controversial end to a brilliant WWE Championship reign as Andre beat him for the title in February 1988 but Hogan's shoulders were clearly off the mat.
