Professional Background
Dr. Bryan Beaver is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine with special focus in Prehospital and Disaster Medicine. He is dual boarded in Emergency Medicine and EMS/Disaster Medicine.
Dr. Beaver received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed emergency medicine residency, chief residency, and Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Medicine Fellowship at Wake Forest University.
Dr. Beaver was an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine before returning to the University of Kansas in July of 2020. During his tenure at Wake Forest, he served as core faculty for the EMS/Disaster Medicine Fellowship, Medical Director of Iredell County EMS, Medical Director of the Wake Forest staffed emergency department at Iredell Memorial Hospital, and Assistant Medical Director for Wake Forest AirCare Critical Care Transport.
Dr. Beaver came to KU in 2020. He is the program director for the ACGME accredited EMS and Disaster Medicine Fellowship, a program he and the EMS faculty created at KU. He also serves as medical director for HealthStar One Critical Care and Specialty Transport, Bonner Springs Fire Department, and Edwardsville Fire Department.
