When he can't play with colors, Craig Sager has fun with different fabrics, such as this soft navy blue velvet jacket from 2012.

Rather than a somber navy, Sager opts for bright hues even when wearing blue.

Shaquille O'Neal towered over Craig Sager at the NBA All-Star game, but the Turner sports reporter won the style war in a shiny purple jacket with a tie in his favorite signature swirl pattern. "It's not exactly a paisley, but it includes so many colors that it goes with everything," he tells THR

Craig Sager looked serious when interviewing current Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd, but his subject seemed distracted by the golden-hued jacket and elaborately patterned tie.

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra was completely dazzled by Sager's florescent fuchsia sport coat, striped shirt and paisley tie. "I wear a lot of pinks and bright pastels — the things I want to experiment with — when I'm in L.A. or Miami," he tells THR.

Who says pink and purple don't match? "The bigger the event the brighter the clothes," says Sager, who spends as much time choosing his shoes as his suits. "I have about 100 pairs made out of every kind of animal, including eel," he adds.

"Checks, plaids, and spots," are some of Craig Sager's favorite patterns, and he combined as many of them as he could when interviewing LeBron James during the NBA Finals.

"I've always liked bright colors," explained Craig Sager, seen here in glaring turquoise and purple paisley. "I grew up in Illinois in a boring town surrounded by corn fields so wanted to brighten it up."

Craig Sager says he restrains from wearing some of his more glaring outfits when reporting at games in states such as Oklahoma and Texas, so instead he plays with patterns such as with this black and dusky pink jacket, and (almost) matching tie.

"In our sport, people always throw around the word legend or legacy, and to me, having a legacy is what Craig Sager has. He was someone we all wanted to be around," said Chicago Bulls player Dwyane Wade in an Instagram video, paying tribute to the late sports reporter. "He was someone, when the game was over, we couldn't wait to get interviewed." Wade is pictured here with Sager (in a red striped dress shirt and sky blue blazer) at the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam, part of the NBA All-Star Weekend, on Feb. 13, 2009.

"'Time is simply how you live your life.' – Craig Sager. So grateful for the time you shared with all of us. RIP my friend #sagerstrong," wrote Kobe Bryant, paying tribute to his friend on Twitter. Here, Bryant is seen being interview by Sager, clad in purple, after defeating the Phoenix Suns (111-103) in game six of the Western Conference Finals during the 2010 NBA Playoffs.

"Rest in peace Craig aka Shiny Suit Man. Glad I got to talk with you at All Star. Condolences to the family from everyone at OVO," Drake, who's pictured with a blue velvet blazer-clad Sager at the 2016 NBA All-Star Saturday Night, wrote on Instagram.

At game six of the 2016 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, Sager continued to stand out in a multi-floral blazer.

If there was anyone who could pull off a blazer with coloful blooms and leopard-print sneakers, it was Sager.
