Since 2006 Jay Mehler lives with The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr's daughter Lee Starkey.
Ian McNabb (Lee`s exboyfriend) explains on his book "MerseyBeast" (2008):
"Lee had moved now into a new scene since Zak was now in the Oasis network [2004], and because of this she met a lot of new people outside of her usual circle. One person she met she fell in love with - a very sweet American guy called Jay who played guitar in a band called Kasabian.
I was pleased she`d apparently found what she was looking for, and very interested to see what it was when she found it.
I`ts a rare thing to find the one."

On 29th June 2009 they announced that Lee Starkey was expecting triplets.
Born on 7 September 2009, the triplets are one girl, Ruby Tiger, and two boys, Jakamo and Smokey.
