Paul Heyman Got Tagged Into Match After SmackDown Went Off The Air [Video]

Paul Heyman decided to get briefly involved in a match that took place following Friday Night SmackDown, but he didn't last long.

After the show went off the Air, Roman Reigns and The Usos went up against The Street Profits and Drew McIntyre in a six-man tag match. The fans began to chant "ECW" as Heyman awaited the tag. However, he tripped over the ring ropes and was briefly attacked before rolling himself out of the ring.

Heyman then took a few moments to regain his composure before calmly putting his suit jacket back on. A fan in attendance shared the video, which you can view below:

It's very rare to see Heyman in situations like this where he voluntarily gets physical. On the Sept. 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Brock Lesnar attempted to hit Heyman with an F5, but Reigns game to The Special Counsel's rescue by delivering a Superman Punch to his rival. The Usos then showed up and tried to attack Lesnar, but he managed to fight the duo off.

Heyman also took a spear from Goldberg on the Oct. 31, 2016 episode of Monday Night Raw. The event took place before the latter made his return to the ring at Survivor Series against Lesnar, whom Goldberg defeated via pinfall.

What Happened During SmackDown

The Street Profits and McIntyre went on to win the match. McIntyre wrestled earlier in the night on SmackDown, defeating Mustafa Ali in a singles match. The Usos faced The New Day in the main event, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods picking up the victory via pinfall.

In a rare move, WWE decided not to build this week's show around Reigns. McIntyre appears to be next in line for Reigns, and it looks like WWE is content to take their time in building up that feud.
