Writer/director Parker Finn establishes himself as yet another exciting talent in the horror space with Smile, a movie that feels kind of like a spiritual successor to The Ring, but includes a lot of things that great horror movies really need: exciting, almost Raimi-esque camerawork, a cast game for a movie that inevitably goes bonkers led by Sosie Bacon and Kyle Gallner, and some genuinely inventive and exciting scares and violent moments. Smile is a movie that will be watched by horror fans very late at night for years and years to come.
