After the Scorsese movie hype, Margot Robbie tackled more roles, showing audiences she can take on many different characters. But what's one of her biggest rules when taking on a role? "There's no way I was going to play the damsel in distress," she told Vogue. At the time of that interview, Robbie was specifically referencing her initial thoughts on her role of Jane in The Legend of Tarzan. But she soon realized her Jane wouldn't be that girl. Instead, the actress recalled, "It just felt very epic and big and magical in some way. I haven't done a movie like that."
This wouldn't be the only movie in which Robbie would challenge herself. She then took on the much-anticipated role of Harley Quinn in the 2016 film Suicide Squad. She described the character during the same interview, saying, "She doesn't even have superpowers ... She's just a psychopath who runs around gleefully killing people — she finds joy in causing mayhem, which makes her weirdly endearing and fun to watch." At that point, there was no doubt Robbie had the chops to handle any character who came her way. She continues to bring her unique style to each film, gifting audiences a new favorite character, every single time.
