According to The Cinemaholic, Khris Franklin stepped down from his head coaching job in 2017, returning to join his former student and newly appointed head coach, Vontae Johnson, and help the team finally win it all at the Daytona competition as the assistant coach.
Since filming ended, Franklin has made one big change to his career: He is now back to his original title, becoming co-head coach of the Trinity Valley Community College cheer team. Otherwise, the "Cheer" star has kept his life as simple as we saw it on the show. During a 2022 interview with Vulture, Franklin reveals that he is still single and nowhere near having a family, despite what fans, and fellow head coach Johnson, want for him. "My poor mother has just been wanting grandkids forever, and she's getting the big zero from me right now," he said. "So don't get her hopes up."
