If you watched the second season of "Cheer," then you know that La'Darius Marshall's relationship with the head coach of Navarro's cheer team, Monica Aldama, was strained (via Cosmopolitan). As shown in the series, the 24-year-old reality star took to social media to bash his former coach after leaving Navarro. To everyone's surprise, he then showed up at the end of the season to cheer them on at Daytona.
"Can we do something about that? You're trying to ruin our name, but you don't hate it that bad that you're trying to represent us?" Monica said, according to Stylecaster. "I've been really hurt over this because I've gone above and beyond for this kid. I've done more for him than probably anyone at this program that's ever come through because I was determined the boy was going to graduate... I've literally done everything in the world for this kid. Never raised my voice at him. Yet you're going to slander my name? I don't get it. I take it very personal." In the final episode, however, viewers witnessed a heartfelt conversation between the pair in which they appeared to make amends.
Since the show aired, it looks like Marshall and Aldama are officially back on good terms. They have posed together for Instagram photos, with Marshall even captioning one photo, "No matter what family always seems to find eachother [sic]."
One thing's for sure: You can take a boy out of "Cheer," but you can take the cheer out of the boy.
